Isle of Lucy
![]()
A fun, light hearted band perfect for those Island-themed occassions, the Isle of Lucy plays Island music of all types, including Steel Drum, Hawaiian, Latin and Caribbean. It's a perfect way to set a happy mood for your next affair. You'll swear that you hear more than just three people playing!
Isle of Lucy features Will Morrison, Paul Catalano, and either Andre Mallinger or John Galm.
Here's a little bit about each player:
Will Morrison (synthesizer guitar, percussion) is a Berklee College of Music graduate and a professional musician since 1978. He's played almost every type of music that one can get paid for. You'll hear steel drums, flutes, hand percussion, and even a guitar every once in a while when Will is playing.
Paul Catalano (keyboards, percussion) graduated from CU's College of Music. He has been in several bands in the Boulder area over the last 20 years. For Isle of Lucy, Paul holds down the bottom end and fills in the middle with his 12 incredibly agile fingers.
Andre Mallinger (percussion) is a very accomplished percussionist, having been at it for quite a few years. She teaches as well as plays in several percussion groups. For Lucy she plays steel drums, congas and other hand drums, and all kinds of shakers. We're very pleased to have her in the band.
John Galm (percussion) is our stand-in when Andre can't make it, but that is in no way to imply that he's our second choice. John was the Dean of Ethno-musicology at CU in Boulder for many years until retiring a few years ago. He's also the leader of the Isle of View steel drum band that actually got Isle of Lucy started. In addition to being a great musician, John is a wonderful guy, too.
